HivemindOS manual
Hivemind Analytics
Hivemind Analytics is privacy-first web analytics for sites you own, included with a HivemindOS subscription. One script tag shows you visitors, traffic sources, top pages, countries, devices, and goal conversions, with no cookies, no personal data, and no consent banner.
Open Analytics from the More launcher, or pin it to the nav rail.
Add your site
- In Analytics, add a site with its domain.
-
Paste the snippet just before
</head>on your site:<script defer data-domain="example.com" src="https://hivemindos-analytics.hivemindos.workers.dev/hive.js"></script> - Choose Check installation. It tells you whether the snippet was found, whether
data-domainmatches, whether the site was reachable, and whether events are arriving.
Optional script attributes:
| Attribute | Effect |
|---|---|
data-hash |
Counts #/route changes as pageviews, for hash routers |
data-manual |
Sends no automatic pageview; you call hivemind('pageview') yourself |
data-exclude |
Comma-separated path globs that must not be tracked, e.g. /admin/** |
data-honor-dnt |
Skips visitors who send Do Not Track |
data-api |
Points the beacon at a proxy you control |
What it measures
| Metric | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Unique visitors | Distinct people in the range, counted from a rotating daily digest |
| Total pageviews | Every page load, including repeat views in one visit |
| Visits | Sessions; a visit ends after 30 minutes of inactivity |
| Bounce rate | Share of visits that saw exactly one page |
| Visit duration | Average time between the first and last event of a visit |
You can also break results down by page, entry and exit page, source, country, device, browser, operating system, UTM campaign, and custom event. Click any row to filter the whole page to it.
Track goals
Send a custom event from your own code:
hivemind('Signup', { props: { plan: 'pro' } });
Then add a goal in Setup & goals, using either an event name or a page path (/thanks, or /blog/* for a prefix). Goals show completions and conversion rate.
Share a public dashboard
Publish a read-only page at a link you choose, for a client, investor, or public transparency page. It shows the same numbers you see, loads no third-party code, and isn’t indexed by search engines. You can stop sharing any time.
Privacy
- No cookies or stored identifiers on the visitor’s device.
- No IP addresses stored. An address is used once, in memory, to make a salted digest. The salt changes every UTC day, so visits on different days can’t be linked.
- No cross-site tracking or personal data, which is why no consent banner is needed under GDPR-style rules. Check your own obligations with your legal advisor.
- Bots are filtered out before counting, so they don’t inflate numbers or use your quota.
- Visitors can opt out in their own browser with
localStorage.hivemind_ignore = 'true'.
What is included
Hivemind Analytics is included with HivemindOS Plus, Pro, and Max at no extra cost. There is no per-pageview charge.
| Plan | Sites | Events per month | History |
|---|---|---|---|
| Plus | 3 | 25,000 | 12 months, up to 300,000 events per site |
| Pro | 10 | 150,000 | 24 months, up to 3,000,000 events per site |
| Max | 25 | 500,000 | 24 months, up to 6,000,000 events per site |
- An event is a pageview or a custom event.
- Events over the monthly allowance aren’t collected, and the view shows how many were dropped.
- History keeps whichever is smaller: the time window or the per-site event limit. A very busy site keeps its most recent history.
- One query can cover at most 366 days.
- A domain can belong to only one account.
- Removing a site permanently deletes its history.
These limits are set by HivemindOS servers; the app only displays them.
Bring your own analytics
Without a subscription, you can still use your own Plausible, PostHog, or Google Analytics 4 account. Bringing your own account is free and fully supported.
A Zero Human Company’s Analytics tab can use either: pick a Hivemind Analytics site you’ve added to read the company’s real traffic and goals, or connect one of your own accounts. See Zero Human Companies.
