HivemindOS manual
Your Brain on phone and desktop
With supporting versions of HivemindOS Mobile and Desktop, your phone keeps its own copy of your notes and skills. You can read and edit them without a desktop. When you link a desktop, the two exchange notes, skills, and supported attachments while they are connected.
How changes travel
- Desktop notes stay in the desktop’s chosen Brain folder. Edits made in Obsidian reach the phone.
- Phone edits become ordinary files you can open on the desktop.
- Devices must be connected for new changes to move between them.
What happens with conflicts
If both sides change the same file, HivemindOS keeps both versions so you can compare them in your Brain. Removed or replaced desktop files also keep recoverable copies in the vault’s trash.
A device that is offline does not mean its notes were deleted. A partial sync keeps what it could read and never treats unseen files as deletions. Some very large or unreadable files may need your attention.
Obsidian is optional
You can add an Obsidian folder on your phone and manage Obsidian Sync in the Obsidian app. Your phone’s own Brain stays available when that folder is disconnected.
